Yes, Gloucestershire Outdoor Group ventures far and wide. And here is a fine example of one of our more strenuous walks.
A select group of 4 set off from Cwmdu village hall and climbed up to join a lovely stretch of The Beacons Way, the contouring path giving great views towards the Central Beacons. A further climb then led to a superb ridge walk up to the highest point of the day Pen Allt-mawr (719m). What goes up must come down. An “off piste” descent through heather, bracken, bilberries & bluebells took us back to the start point. An enjoyable 10 miles/2386ft ascent.
Make sure you check out the programme and join us soon.
