Getting out and about on New Year’s day, with a mixture of history and architecture to enjoy, with some good company.
A thoroughly enjoyable and informative walk. There were just 4 of us. We started in Bath Road and did a round trip taking in both rural and urban sites coming back via Charlton Kings. We passed places like the Devil’s Chimney and Lilybrook Golf Club, saw some very smart houses and two lots of almshouses. We were also shown a house with a blue plaque showing that Cecil Day Lewis had lived there for a few years. A great way to start the New Year!
