Autumn berries aplenty for this wonderful walk in a favourite area for the Gloucestershire Outdoor Group, walk around the elevated commons in the heart of the county. And a special moment too, on a day we all remember…
A lovely 7.5 miler out from Minchinhampton with plenty of Autumn colour: leaves, berries and still some flowers in places. We held a silence to mark Remembrance Sunday at 11am, overlooking a beautiful valley. Such contrast to the noise and turmoil of Wars being considered.
Many other opportunities to mark the poignancy of the day were provided from poppy-covered church doors to a remembrance plaque on a village wall.
Henry’s cafe was our final stop for a well-earned cuppa and cake as we viewed the names on the memorial on the corner of Minchinhampton’s Market building.
A very special Day.
Don’t forget, check out our programme of events, and see if you’re favourite part of the Cotswolds is popular with our group.
